Wende Whitus

Writer, Speaker, & Location Scout at Personal Retreat Day.

Charlotte, NC, United States

Most workdays find me busy producing corporate and commercial videos or scouting for the perfect location for films and TV. My “side” passion is teaching others how to maximize their potential by setting aside one Personal Retreat Day each month for inner conversation & renewal. I’ve also been a writer, blogger, tutor, office manager, massage therapist, and a missionary (in France!) My hobbies include reading, yoga, walking, logic puzzles, and of course setting aside time for a Personal Retreat Day once a month. I’ve been married to the best man in the Universe for 30 years. We have two lovely grown daughters and a neurotic chihuahua mix named Daisy.

About this FieldTrip

You’ve been to a “workshop” but how about a “REST-shop?”

Rest, reflect, and reorient with a mini-Personal Retreat Day.

This immersive event includes deep breathing and meditation, gentle movement, and a time of guided reflection and planning. So grab a cozy blanket, a journal, and a cup of tea.

Together, we’ll practice a mini-retreat that you can come back to anytime you need a little break from the daily grind!

Agenda

  • After a brief introduction to the Personal Retreat Day story & method, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in each of the following restful activities:

  • Deep breathing practice & guided meditation

  • Stretching and gentle movement

  • Reflection on the previous month

  • Reorientation towards the next 30 days: plan your journey

  • Wrapping up with Q&A, next steps, and preparation for an optional "power nap"

What to know or bring

  • a journal or notebook & pen

  • your calendar

  • water or tea

  • please wear loose comfy clothes for stretching

  • optional props: meditation cushion, pillow, bolster, blanket

What to expect

Coaching session!

A guided exploration focused on personal development, creativity, wellness, and self-reflection.

It will be recorded!

The recording will be shared within 24 hours in the follow up email for a 4-day window, and available at the top of this page. Make sure to register for access!

How to make the most of FieldTrips

The FieldTrips experience is defined not only by what the host has to share, but also by how we show up individually and collectively. The way we show up impacts our capacity to be moved, inspired, and activated.

Show up fully

Get ready to be immersed! Engage with smiles, nods, waves, emojis. Share in the chat. Get cozy. Turn off notifications. Sip your favorite beverage.

Stay curious

Wear your beginner’s hat. Go with the flow. Welcome the stumbles and fumbles. Congratulate yourself for trying. Keep going!

Celebrate your host

Our hosts are members of the CreativeMornings community—just like you! Everyone comes to this with different backgrounds—a lot of our hosts have never done anything like this before! And we love that! Cheer them on when something goes awry and when it goes perfectly.

Support each other

We’re all figuring things out in real time. Celebrate, rather than critique emerging ideas. Cheer each other on as you try new things.  Try “Yes! And
” in conversation.

Not vibing?

It’s 100% okay when a FieldTrip does not resonate with you. Pop out quietly and try another experience later. Fill out the survey with your feedback (no dms to host or chat commentary, please.)
