Motor House is a place where old dividing lines disappear, new connections inspire, where Baltimore’s artists, performers, and those with emerging talents can build a diverse, inclusive community to make fresh opportunities.
Motor House is a cultural and economic catalyst, an engine for action both social and inventive, a meeting ground for poets and policymakers, organizations and individuals, thinkers and doers who seek to transform our city.
Motor House is about making art and about making change in a building that is actually a much bigger idea than its four walls.
Maryland Art Place (MAP) inspires, supports, and encourages artistic expression through innovative programming, exhibitions, and educational opportunities while recognizing the powerful impact art can have on our community. MAP creates a dynamic environment for artists of our time to engage the public by nurturing and promoting new ideas. MAP has served as a critical resource for contemporary art in the Mid-Atlantic since 1981.
The Contemporary is a nomadic, non-collecting art museum in Baltimore, Maryland. Our mission expands the idea of a museum as an incubator that commissions site-specific and subject-oriented projects. We engage diverse audiences and advance contemporary art through projects and educational programming. Our work is inspired by three guiding principles: artists matter, collaboration is key, and audience is everywhere.
