Sunrise Viewing of James Turrell’s Skypace

Hosted at University of Texas Student Activity Center (SAC)

About this FieldTrip

Before the holiday madness sets in, join us to indulge in a little early morning zen!

We’re partnering with Landmarks, UT’s public art program, to host a private sunrise viewing of James Turrell’s Skyspace ‘The Color Inside’. Following the early morning viewing will be a discussion with Landmarks’ Education Coordinator, Catherine Zinser, on the piece and UT’s larger program to bring innovative artists and installations to campus.

NOTE: This is an earlier start time than our typical FieldTrip. Since Landmarks is generously letting us into the space before normal business hours, no latecomers will be able to get in. Make sure to set two morning alarm clocks!

Check out this page for information about visitor parking on campus. We like the Brazos Garage by The Blanton (map). If you park here, you’ll get a birds-eye view of the construction of one of Landmark’s newest installations, Ellsworth Kelly: Austin. Here’s a handy map of the campus with directions to the SAC.
