About the speaker
Stephanie Hill is the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer at the Juvenile Court of Memphis and Shelby County. She was born and raised in Dover, Delaware, received both her BA and MS from Howard University in Washington, DC, and received her PhD from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
She's been a prolific worker & advocate in her work in youth development, early childhood education, K-12 school administration, and postsecondary program implementation for the last 19 years. Her breadth of experiences inform her approach to building individual, team, and organizational capacity.
Stephanie has developed expertise in program design, program assessment, and business operations. She has been able to guide organizations from process and policy to execution.
Early in her career, Stephanie served as an educator at Maya Angelou Academy at the New Beginnings Youth Development Center in Washington, DC. While serving adjudicated youth, Stephanie demonstrated her aptitude for innovating to positively impact the outcomes for children.
Stephanie has also served as a Dean of Students, Dean of Operations, and Director of a Boys & Girls Club. Stephanie was instrumental in the start-up of four charter schools across Memphis, TN, Greenwood, MS, and Birmingham, AL. Additionally, she led an operations turn-around for an established elementary school in Memphis.
She has received numerous awards, including the New Memphis Exemplar Award, Nell C. Jackson Award from the National Association of Girls and Women in Sports, and the Louise Patterson Award for Academics and Community Involvement from the University of California at Berkeley.
