About the speaker

The definition of pioneer is a person who is among the first to explore or settle a new country or area. But pioneers also shatter expectations, widen boundaries, and reveal new possibilities in life.

Stacey Bafi-Yeboa, owner and designer of KANIA has been a pioneer since she began her career in fashion 14 years ago. A self-taught designer and businesswoman, Stacey’s path was paved by trial, error, repetition and sheer determination which led her to New York Fashion Week this year, a HUGE pioneer move in the Canadian fashion scene! She is a visionary with a unique fashion design background, her time as a professional performing artist and dancer “On Broadway” in New York City is what sparked her passion in fashion and kick-started her successful career.

As this month’s CreativeMornings Ottawa speaker, Stacey will speak to the ins and out of the fashion industry and what it’s like navigating that in a city like Ottawa.
