Neelofer Nova on her poetry, identity, and work

About the speaker

This month’s theme is spirituality where we ask:

  • How might we find meaning in the mundane?
  • How should a person be?

Spirituality is the search for our deepest values and meanings, something that touches us all. It is our yearning to peel back the curtain on the world we can see. The word comes from the Latin spiritualis, meaning “of breath, wind, and air.”

And we shape breath and air through our words and our language. Spoken word, uttered out loud, is how we locate the sacred.

SPEAKER: NEELOFER NOVA

Our speaker this month is Neelofer Nova: a poet and spoken word writer, mentor and workshop facilitator and Radio Host from South London. She has performed on many stages in the London circuit and her award-winning work has been in several publications and festivals.

Whether it's a mentorship programme for vulnerable women to a wellbeing newsletter for Women in Prisons UK, Neelofer will share how spirituality has been a driving force within her creativity.
