About the speaker

Sophie’s adventurous spirit and passion for health, photography, and nature have defined her life. She has guided trips across Québec, Ontario, Baja, and the Arctic, owned a dogsledding company, lived in Botswana, and competed in multi-day adventure races. Her experiences in Greenland and Antarctica deepened her commitment to conservation and raising awareness of climate change. As Parks Canada’s Photography Specialist, she documents Canada’s natural and cultural treasures, hoping to inspire others to protect them. As a mother of two, Sophie balances an active lifestyle with creative pursuits like crafting jewelry and drawing inspired by Antarctica.

About the theme:

Our theme for January is JOURNEY.

It was chosen by our Muscat in Oman and illustrated by Salim Al Salami, and is presented by our global partner Adobe.

As we travel through life, everyone you meet is at a different point in their own unique journey. Some of us know where we’re going. While other paths are full of twists, turns, and obstacles thrown in our way. The trick is to embrace the detours and delays. Because there are no shortcuts on a journey of self-discovery or creative expression.

Just please remember: you are not traveling alone.
