Artist Siyuan Aw explores what it really means to grow, from playful experimentation to the uncomfortable moments that spark transformation.

In this CreativeMornings Singapore talk, multidisciplinary artist Siyuan Aw shares an honest look at the theme of Growth. He reflects on the curiosity that shaped his early creative path and the difficult moments that pushed him to evolve. Siyuan reminds us that growth is not always visible or easy. It often happens quietly, through uncertainty, repetition and the courage to start again. His talk invites us to embrace the messy, tender and surprising parts of becoming.

About the speaker

Siyuan Aw is a Singaporean painter and picture book author who has lived and worked in Shanghai and London.

For years, Siyuan led strategy at creative agencies such as BBH Shanghai, Ogilvy London, and DDB Singapore. He’s also the Global Head of Brand for Tibetan social enterprises Norlha and Norlha.

Alongside this professional life, Siyuan has tended to a quieter pursuit: the search for stillness through art and nature. His paintings, exhibited in Shanghai and Singapore, reflect this inner movement.

His picture book, Oneness With Your Wings, grew from a journey to Mongolia, where he met Bekku and his eagle. There, he discovered that the act of letting go is also a form of growth — and that through surrender, the soul finds its way home.
