Shobhana Narasimhan is a Professor in the Theoretical Sciences Unit at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, where she heads the Computational Nanoscience group. She also has a strong interest in issues related to gender and science, and is currently an Anna Boyksen Fellow at the Technical University, Munich, Germany.

Shobhana Narasimhan is a Professor in the Theoretical Sciences Unit at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, where she heads the Computational Nanoscience group. She also has a strong interest in issues related to gender and science, and is currently an Anna Boyksen Fellow at the Technical University, Munich, Germany.

She obtained her PhD in physics from Harvard University, and did postdoctoral research at Brookhaven National Laboratory and the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society. She is a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences of India, and the American Physical Society. She is also an International Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
