About the speaker

As creatives, and as humans, there is always the danger of designing from your own point of view. How do you encourage yourself and others to regularly imagine beyond our immediate teams or circumstances? How do we empathise with each other, and the other humans that use the products we’re designing?
Roxy and Rachel will be talking about how they encourage the Design teams at Trade Me to look beyond their own experiences to connect with others within Trade Me and beyond.
Susannah “Roxy” Huntington is Head of Design at Trade Me, New Zealand’s online home for all shopping, jobs, property and cars. For the past 20 years, Roxy has been fascinated with communication. From branding and advertising, external clients and internal teams, online products and personal services, it’s always been clear communication through design that has smoked her tyres.
Rachel Radford is a Design Lead at Trade Me, where she connects people, ideas, and the beautiful little details to create experiences that people love. Rachel’s current focus is bringing our new Design System - Tangram - to life, and sharing the value of how good shared Design Systems can help teams work together better and break down barriers between design and development
