About the speaker

Richard Harrison, Chief Day Dreamer of A Midsummer’s Mural, has an MFA from North Carolina School for the Arts. Richard’s 26-year-old company has received awards from the mayor of Omaha, the Governor of Nebraska, and was chosen to do a 1% For Art Project for the Central Nebraska Veterans Home.

He helped create the South Omaha Mural Project, a series of murals celebrating the history and ethnic neighborhoods of the Magic City. In 2023 Richard led a team of artists to paint a Mural on Ardent Mills grain silo in South Omaha, measuring 120’x240’, realizing a design by Sarah Rowe.

This year Richard lead a 560’ mural in Council Bluffs about the history of steel and railroads in the Midwest on the Katelman Steel building, for the 100th anniversary of their foundry.
