About the speaker
Rebecca Ussai is an Experience Design Director at R/GA Chicago who has a particular interest in motion design. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon with a BFA in Communication Design and unexpectedly starting a career in UX, she is finding ways to combine the techniques of motion design into the most relevant areas of user experience. She came up with “The Principles of UX Choreography” which helps designers use motion in a way that creates more intuitive, engaging, and delightful experiences. Along the way, she began a collaboration with Disney legend and animator, Glen Keane (most well known for The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast). Together, they have presented at SXSW, Google, and UX London and continue to explore the ways in which characters and brands can translate into digital experiences.
Rebecca has worked with brands such as L'Oreal Paris, Tiffany & Co., Victoria’s Secret, UFC, and Verizon. Her range of work includes a number of platform redesigns, omni-channel commerce, service design, and personalized experiences, all of which aim to develop meaningful and relevant connections between brands and users.
The heart of user experience design centers around crafting intuitive and usable experiences that ultimately make technology easy for people to use, but beyond that Rebecca also believes that a memorable experience is one that has emotion and authenticity.
