Additional details

For many, the approaching holiday season is a time of consumption—of stocking up on items during Black Friday sales, of buying gifts etc. But societal and individual overconsumption are destroying our planet, and even our happiness. Anna Karsch and Michaela Wunderl-Strojny are two designers connected by friendship and a deep conviction to change the face of fashion. According to estimates by the World Economic Forum and United Nations Environment Programme the number of clothes produced has doubled since 2000 and production accounts for up to 10% of global carbon dioxide output. Entrepreneurs Anna and Michaela will talk about what sustainability means to them and the challenges of starting a business committed to full transparency across all areas. How do you get consumers on board and change habits? How do you stand out among the crowd of greenwashing labels? And how do you advocate for an abundance of quality in an age of abundant quantity?
