About the speaker

Tunteeya Yamaoka is a Psychologist and founder of the Ikigai Psychology Clinic. She was born in Osaka and travelled around Asia, Europe, and Africa before settling in Melbourne, Australia, which she now calls home. Having parents from opposite sides of the world (a mother from Japan and a father from Ghana) impacted Tunteeya's perspectives on art, creativity, and psychology.

Tunteeya believes in a holistic, evidence-based approach to psychology and human development in her practice. As a Psychologist, Tunteeya has worked in clinical settings, public and private hospitals, universities, and corporate organisations to help individuals understand the complexities of mental health, creativity, culture, work, education, relationships and discovering purpose.

Tunteeya's areas of particular interest in mental health are OCD, ADHD, Perfectionism and Anxiety. She is passionate about supporting individuals in finding the natural balance between listening to their body and intuition and using their cognition to make better decisions in life.
