Petra Wöhrman shares her passion for type, ink, calligraphy and hand lettering.
About the speaker
Petra Wöhrmann was raised in the colourful world of Meissen and Nymphenburg porcelain paintings of her mother. After her graphic design studies in Nürnberg (Germany) and Cambrai (France), she worked as one of the first flash designers in the global online agency marchfirst in Hamburg for clients such as Audi and Munich Airport. In 2000 she set up the creative department of the new branch in Munich.
But with the turbulent times of 2001, she wished to feel creative results with her hands. So she followed her heart, quit her job and began working as a freelance designer to face the challenges and the risks of more freedom in her creative work. And often the courage for change is rewarded with something unexpected.
This is a story from personal projects, hope and fear, good friends and a love for type, black ink, lettering and handwriting.
Currently Petra has an atelier for graphic design in Munich, teaches typography and calligraphy in Munich and continues to delve deeper into the wonderful world of type.
