Rasa DC founder Sahil Rahman talks about the Patterns in our lives and how to live with or change them.
About the speaker
Sahil Rahman is the co-founder of RASA, a growing fast-casual Indian restaurant brand based in Washington, DC, that is focused on opening minds through the power of food.
Born to Indian parents from two different religious backgrounds, and influenced deeply by travels across our world, he has spent his life building bridges and breaking down barriers between communities, ideas, and individuals. Sahil believes that food is the gateway to culture, and looks to share the flavors of his childhood as a vehicle for connection, empathy, and curiosity.
Sahil comes alive when spreading ideas, connecting individuals, and cultivating community. He was named an Eater Young Gun in 2018, and is a recipient of the 2021 WBJ Diversity in Business Awards and the 2021 Rising Terp Award from his alma mater, the University of Maryland. He was also named a Thrillist Local Hero, and a Local Changemaker by the Washington City Paper for his role in supporting the community during the pandemic with RASA. In past lives, Sahil worked in the experiential education space, and before that, as a management consultant with Deloitte Consulting in their strategy & operations practice.
He is an avid traveler and promoter of play, and currently sits on the board of the Restaurant Association of Metro Washington and the board of the National Landing Business Improvement District, where he co-chairs the equity committee. If you don’t see him in the restaurants, you can likely find him talking to strangers, wandering the world, or savoring a spicy bowl of phone.
