About the speaker
Mike Brown has worked in arts and cultural development for 20+ years. This has included major capital developments, co-founding the Format International Photography Festival and developing programmes across health, wellbeing and education. Recently his focus has been on strategic and structural development to support the longer term sustainability of the creative and cultural sector. Mike was primary bid writer for Derby’s bid for UK City of Culture 2025 and is now working on legacy activity to ensure culture and creativity remain key drivers for Derby’s regeneration and growth.
Mike is currently working with Civic Lab at University of Derby to refresh and update the Derby Culture Strategy. For Creative Mornings Mike will share information on this process and provide opportunity for you to help shape and inform the strategy priorities. Mike will also discuss the development of Culture Derby as a new leadership organisation to drive delivery of the strategy, supporting growth and impact of the cultural and creative sectors.
