About the speaker
Patricia Schlageter is an international development professional who has worked with various organizations on the thematics of Global Health, Child Rights, ICTs, Community Development and Sustainability. She is driven by the simple question of how to make the world a better place while exploring the complexities it raises.
Growing up with two different cultures (Swiss & Filipino) sparked her curiosity, making her eager to understand the complexities of the world, figure out how societies function, and grasp how they change, adapt, and interact.
Meanwhile, her academic and professional journey have led her to delve into the wide array of social sciences, gain access behind the scenes of policy-making and contribute to shaping global agendas. After several years in International Geneva and a stroke of serendipity, Patricia found herself co-leading a grassroots non-profit in the Philippines, faced with human and environmental perils, but with the opportunity to still develop into a model for sustainable living.
Patricia believes global cooperation, interdisciplinary approaches and localized action are key to bringing out the necessary innovative solutions to address the many complex and pressing challenges our world faces.
