This very special morning will feature personal stories of courage and resilience from first-generation members of the ourBRIDGE for KIDS team. ourBRIDGE for KIDS is a nonprofit organization that supports the immigrant and refugee community in Charlotte, NC by providing an out-of-school program and through community-based initiatives. Their mission is to foster the education, acculturation, and resilience of newly arrived and first generation children and their families. ourBRIDGE envisions a city where every newly arrived and first-generation American child has the same opportunities to live a happy and fulfilling childhood. Since 2014, ourBRIDGE has welcomed over 500 students and staff from over 30 different countries and cultures. They’ve worked with families from Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean, Africa, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. ourBRIDGE strives to promote the values of Love, Education, Respect, and Diversity (LERD) throughout generations.
