Online CM [Melbourne] • Spectrum
September 25, 8:30am - 9:30am AEST. Hosted at Zoom Melbourne
part of a series on Spectrum
About the speaker
Chloe Smith is a multidisciplinary artist of Chinese and Papua New Guinean heritage, currently based on the South Coast of NSW. Working primarily in textiles—under her pseudonym I Make Soft Food—Chloe makes meticulously crafted and often darkly humorous soft-sculptural replicas of the mundane.
Allpress Espresso is built on relationships. Our success as a coffee roaster is down to the success of the people we choose to partner with – from our first café customer to our staff around the world and even down to John, who comes into our Dunedin Roastery Café every morning for a long black.
Human connection is why we are here and it’s the important relationships we create that steer us on the right path when we veer off course. We realise that sometimes it’s as simple as connecting two people in a café over a couple of flat whites.
Hello Morning People!
We are back again for another month online this Friday at 8:15am for an 8:30am start. Thanks to the amazing efforts and support from the CMHQ in NY as well as all the other chapters from around the world for making this possible.
We’re going to be broadcasting live via Zoom this month. So please download and install Zoom now to the device of your choice. Don’t worry, Zoom accounts are free.
Already have Zoom installed? Please check for software updates, because they release new versions all the time.

Joining us this month on the global theme of ‘Spectrum’ is Chloe Smith, a multidisciplinary artist of Chinese and Papua New Guinean heritage, currently based on the South Coast of NSW. Working primarily in textiles—under her pseudonym I Make Soft Food — Chloe makes meticulously crafted and often darkly humorous soft-sculptural replicas of the mundane.
Chloe will be chatting to us about how recent times have challenged us all to come face-to-face with some uncomfortable feelings. How can art invite us to sit with the full spectrum of responses and embrace the crummy that comes with being human. Looking forward to seeing you there!
While we sadly can’t deliver our usual coffee and brekky directly to each of your homes, thanks to our local sponsor Allpress Espresso, CM attendees can get 15% off any online orders at allpressespresso.com with the code CM15
We’ll be opening our virtual doors at 8:15, then starting on the dot at 8:30. Hang around after the talk and meet someone new in our breakout room as well! Looking forward to seeing you all then! :)
