Where are you when things “flow”? When you lose awareness of what you’re doing?

In his book, Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience, psychologist and researcher Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi theorises that people are happiest when they are in a state of flow. Flow is the experience of completely immersing yourself in a singular pursuit and effectively applying your skills to it.

However, does flow really mean losing sight of where you are? Or can we be in flow while being conscious of our world—so coexistent we’re one? This is what this month’s speaker Natalie Fee explores.

An award-winning environmentalist, author, speaker and founder of City to Sea, a UK-based organisation running campaigns to stop plastic pollution at source, Natalie wants us to dig deeper into our practices of flow. Are they conscious? Are they sustainable? Do we care?
