‘Movement’ with Leonora Oppenheim

BrainStation

part of a series on Movement

About the speaker

We're exploring MOVEMENT this month.

Movement is a universal state of being: we blink, we pulse, we dance.

Even at rest, the matter we’re composed of is in motion. When we move together, we can build social and collective movements. Our energy directed like a mighty river flowing downstream, taking unexpected and winding turns to carve mountains.

OUR SPEAKER:

Leonora Oppenheim has been creating and facilitating movement workshops for creatives for the past five years. These dynamic sessions are designed to untangle knotty problems, refresh creative resources, and increase resilience against burnout.

She has taught designers from all over the world and in some of the best design schools. After 15+ years working in communications design and sustainability, Leonora began developing her embodied practice through an MFA in Creative Practice at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (2017-2019).

As an artist, with a research practice in movement and mark-making, Leonora understands how the body works as a research tool. So how can we replenish our energy, ideas, and resilience through movement? Who is really supporting people's connection to themselves, so they can do their best work?

OUR OPENER:

Del Mak is an Award Winning Choreographer, Creative Director and International Judge. He's a CM London community member that has choreographed for Netflix, The Chemical Brothers, M.I.A, Timbaland and has performed with Beyonce, Lady Gaga, the Brit Awards and the London 2012 Olympic Games to name a few!

Del will be opening our event with some intentional & directional movement.
