Aleka feels privileged to use her gift of noticing the inner beauty in others and portraying that beauty through her multimedia creative agency ACTPhotoMedia. She is known for her lifestyle blog NaturallyACT were shares her experience with Uterine Fibroids, Mental Health and Living authentically.

She is the co-founder of Kinky Hair Connection, a semi-annual event created to connect, support, and encourage a natural lifestyle. She is the designer and creator of Wrapped by A.C.T. A head-wrap and accessory line created to empower those who choose to adorn themselves with a sense of pride and provides an outlet for creativity.

Aleka serves as a committee member with the GR Community Foundation Black Legacy Fund whose purpose is to build on the legacy of giving in Black communities in greater Grand Rapids. She serves on the NextGen Board with Wedgwood Christian Services, and is a former Board Member with BL2END (Business Leaders Linked to Encourage New Directions), as the Marketing Communications Co-Chair and Facebook/Grand Circus Committee lead.

She has been recognized for her commitment and leadership by Local First/Good For Michigan as a LocalMotion award recipient for her commitment to social, environmental, and economic responsibility. Aleka is a Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce ATHENA scholarship recipient, She is a GR Business Journal 40 Under Forty Honoree, Brilliance Awards-Brilliant Entrepreneur finalists and most recently named GR Business Journal 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan.
