Why actions don’t only speak louder than words, but are also more convincing.
About the speaker
As a passionate cyclist and urbanite, political scientist, economist and organisational sociologist, I work as freelance consultant and project developer to advance social entrepreneurship, new mobility and urban planning and citizen participation. I also offer talks, workshops, seminars and studies on these and related issues for public and private clients.
I’m a co-founder at Colabor, our coworking space and project office in Köln-Ehrenfeld, where I work on project and business development – on which issues and with whom do we want to work? What do we offer and what value does that create for society and our clients?
As a related project I have coordinated the finances for AGORA KÖLN, a local citizen movement for the transformation of the city of Cologne from 2012 to 2015. In that function, I have fundraised the resources for car-free, citizen-driven Sunday “Tag des guten Lebens: Kölner Sonntag der Nachhaltigkeit”, including the acquisition of public grants, sponsorships and donations. I have co-organised the event itself with a broad team of other freelancers and hundreds of volunteers in Ehrenfeld, 2013 and 2014, and Sülz, 2015. For 20.000 neighbours, with around 250 activities and stands and up to 100.000 visitors we have created the largest urban and car-free experimental zone in Germany that has touched and inspired thousands of people.
I am happy when I see, hear and feel happy people – whether relaxed on a bicycle, engaged and active at the carfree Sunday or concentrated at their desk in Colabor.
