About the speaker
Healing from a traumatic injury inevitably brings pain but we easily forget the importance of the emotional healing process and the lessons it brings. Applying the stages of grief to physical healing brings a different look at what “I’m okay” can mean.
Mariah Morgan (she/her) suffered an acute traumatic brain injury after being hit by a car while walking to work one morning in downtown Portsmouth. This began a healing journey that started in the physical but brought unexpected emotional challenges. For a Type A overachiever, learning that sometimes there is no answer to the questions “why this?”, “why me?”, and “what now?” might be the most difficult but needed growth opportunity there is.
Mariah is the founder and principal of Stout Heart, a mission-driven marketing agency in Portsmouth, NH. The agency is committed to producing branding, website, and marketing work that has a positive impact on our community and our environment and to creating a workplace that improves the lives of its people.
She is a mother, a foodie, a music lover, a runner, and a Portsmouth enthusiast.
