February 23, 8:30am - 10:00am EST. Hosted at Motorco
part of a series on Curiosity
About the speaker
Mailande Moran is a writer, artist, speaker, and self-described “creative weirdo.“ Curiosity has been her guide through a constantly surprising career, which has included: starting an artisan-made textile company; creating the first tablet classroom in a Kyrgyz village school; teaching design thinking in Cuba; drawing on the backs of her grad school business cards and posting them to Instagram, which changed her life forever; and helping people clean out their closets. Mailande has spoken about creativity, risk, identity, and education at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, East Carolina University, and TEDxDurham. When she’s not encouraging people to make the things they dream of making, you can often find her singing somewhere or walking her pint-sized Golden Retriever.
