About the speaker
Jason Lefton has a background in digital arts and graphic design. He loves table tennis and the film “Synecdoche, New York” by Charlie Kaufman. In college, he played drums in the air metal band Serpint Deth. A friend once talked him into skydiving while in Wollongong, Australia. He taught at the Corcoran School of Art before moving to Richmond, where he decided to buy a big laser. The polar bear is his favorite animal.
His creative laser studio, BIG SECRET, has enjoyed producing a wide variety of projects for artists, designers, advertising agencies, and other creative friends. They etch, cut, and mark an array of materials such as wood, paper, acrylic, glass, and fabric but enjoy experimenting with non-traditional mediums such as leaves, shoes, and food.
