Luke Sheldrick

Bayview Yards

part of a series on Layers

About the speaker

Luke Sheldrick is a farmer, educator, and entrepreneur who co-owns Terramor Farm, a small-scale organic vegetable and flower farm, with his partner Dana Moores. As a partner of the Market Gardener Institute, he helps farmers and business owners build sustainable operations, not just for the earth, but for the people running them. Balancing hands-on farming with teaching and content creation, Luke focuses on team leadership, efficient systems, and the resilience needed to sustain a fulfilling, long-term career in agriculture. Through his work, he explores the intersection of creativity, problem-solving, and finding joy in the hard parts of the process.

About the theme:

Our theme for February is LAYERS.

It was chosen by our Lausanne in Switzerland and illustrated by Catherine Pearson, and is presented by our global partner Adobe.

Simplicity provides clarity, but layers give our work a richer complexity and depth. Just like a collage is created by overlapping layers of found materials, we pile up experiences that form our beliefs and reactions. People have layers too.

It is the layers that give life meaning. We must peel them away to discover our deeper truths.
