About the speaker

Chattanooga native Kreneshia Rielle’ Whiteside-McGee began curating in 2015 as a university senior. Since graduation she has served as Chief Curator of the Association for Visual Arts (4 years) and works independently with recognized entities and artists throughout the nation and abroad, leading to features in Essence Magazine and the Chatter's 2023 20 under 40. Her career was inspired by her experience as a performing arts student and she continues to be an advocate for the arts and devoted to fostering culture in the community.

“I’m conscious that my work is bigger than me- it’s about the art. It’s my responsibility to ensure the artist is heard and to evoke change in anyone that witnesses my curated exhibitions.”
