About this FieldTrip

As the world turns and changes seemingly each and every day (or hour, or minute?), keeping focused and sane during these difficult times has become incredibly challenging. How do we keep pace when our sense of normalcy is ever-evolving?

The answer: remaining agile. Specifically, Agile methodologies: workflow frameworks originally born to best empower fast-moving software development teams. These Agile frameworks can empower anyone to do more and improve quality of work, especially creative professionals. During this session, you’ll learn about Agile and how it fosters better estimation regarding deadlines and expectations, all while helping you gain greater clarity in a world full of uncertainty. You’ll learn how to spend less time managing your life so you can spend more time doing what you love: being awesomely creative and expressive.

About your Host
Drew Kincius is a self-described optimistic realist. For the past eight years, he’s filled numerous leadership and consulting roles focused on hospitality, brand development, Agile project management, and entrepreneurship, gaining firm respect and appreciation for the challenges that come with small business ownership. As Executive Director of Launch Indy, he empowers and fosters the personal and professional growth and connectivity of not only Indianapolis’ small business community but its growing remote workforce as well. His mission is vast but simple: helping others to be, and do, better through constant introspection and vulnerability. He acts as Emcee and is on the planning committee for 1 Million Cups - Indy, via The Kauffman Foundation, is a Community Stakeholder for Indianapolis Innovation Council - Forward Cities, and serves as a Board Member for Indy VegFest.

How to make the most of FieldTrips

The FieldTrips experience is defined not only by what the host has to share, but also by how we show up individually and collectively. The way we show up impacts our capacity to be moved, inspired, and activated.

Show up fully

Get ready to be immersed! Engage with smiles, nods, waves, emojis. Share in the chat. Get cozy. Turn off notifications. Sip your favorite beverage.

Stay curious

Wear your beginner’s hat. Go with the flow. Welcome the stumbles and fumbles. Congratulate yourself for trying. Keep going!

Celebrate your host

Our hosts are members of the CreativeMornings community—just like you! Everyone comes to this with different backgrounds—a lot of our hosts have never done anything like this before! And we love that! Cheer them on when something goes awry and when it goes perfectly.

Support each other

We’re all figuring things out in real time. Celebrate, rather than critique emerging ideas. Cheer each other on as you try new things.  Try “Yes! And…” in conversation.

Not vibing?

It’s 100% okay when a FieldTrip does not resonate with you. Pop out quietly and try another experience later. Fill out the survey with your feedback (no dms to host or chat commentary, please.)
