“The more you look at history, the more you see it happen over and over again.”

Storyteller Kate Winkler Dawson delivers her take on intersection of the theme NOW and creativity. She is a narrative nonfiction author whose primary genre is True Crime. As she researches historical true crime, she sees the same trends happening in a contemporary context now. She’s successfully told her stories through multiple media formats—books, journalism, documentary film, teaching, and podcasting. Her journey has been about “figuring out what you’re passionate about.” She details the pivots in her life which have led to an illustrious career in true crime storytelling.
