About the speaker

Josie Norris (they/them) b. 1996

Since I was eleven years old, I have been telling stories with a camera and it has taken me on many adventures. I am drawn to stories centering on identity and belonging.

Currently working as a visual journalist with The San Antonio Express-News, I am always searching for good light, a new angle, and my new favorite breakfast taco spot.

I am a graduate of Central Michigan University, studying global and cultural studies, and Delta College where I studied journalism.

Past experience includes The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, The San Antonio Express-News, The Tennessean, MLive.com/The Saginaw News, Central Michigan Life, and The Delta Collegiate.

When not photographing, I can be found cruising around San Antonio on a bike, knitting, going on long walks, and getting distracted by my cat.
