Whatever you invest in, you'll get something in return.
The more you put in, the more diverse it is...the more rich your output will be.
This is how I see creativity. You have to have a beginner's mindset, even with stuff that you do know, and learn how stuff works.
My favourite quote from Howard [Gossage] is that nobody reads ads, people read things that interest them.
I should have invested more in relationships and people...it's not who you know but it's what you get exposed to. Everybody is interesting, everybody has something that you can learn from.
What is evident to some people is a revelation to others.
Let's see what happens - I think it's the best way to go. What would I have to lose?
Just go and do stuff.
If you work in a creative industry, you have to understand there's a difference [between creativity and creating value]. I can come up with the most clever headline known to man but if it doesn't sell, we have a problem...my business is creating value, not being creative.
