About the speaker
Jess Wen connects design thinking with strategic vision to help partners navigate complex business and brand challenges. As VP of Brand and Growth at SoLo Funds, a premier AI-powered community banking solution for everyday Americans, she leads brand positioning, user acquisition, member retention, and creative execution. Her approach is grounded in deep listening and collaborative co-creation, driving both enterprise value and tangible business results.
Her career spans diverse high-impact roles. At West Ventures, she served as Managing Director, partnering with 150+ venture backed companies to unlock their brand potential through strategic positioning and creative innovation. As Chief Design Officer at TEDxSanFrancisco, she led brand design, PR, marketing, and production while coaching speakers on the iconic stage. She joined doc.ai as employee number five, where she shaped product experience, user research, and brand strategy until the company's acquisition by Sharecare (NASDAQ: SHCR) in 2021. During her time at UNICEF as Brand Design Lead, Jess helped create UReport, a mobile polling platform that has since grown to serve 30+ million young people across more than 100 countries.
Jess remains active as a community builder at the intersection of business, creativity, and impact. She also teaches as an adjunct professor at design-focused universities, championing the belief that "designers have so much more to offer beyond the pixels."
Jess earned her BFA in Graphic Design from Maryland Institute College of the Arts and her MBA in Design Strategy from California College of the Arts. She lives in San Francisco, California.
