James Sholly

James Sholly is the founder of the graphic design studio Commercial Artisan. Working with his brother Jon, Commercial Artisan finds the creative potential in their clients, which include museums, professional organizations, design-focussed businesses, tourism bureaus, and educational institutions. Its work has been recognized by AIGA, PRINT, the Society of Typographic Arts, Communication Arts, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, and Under Consideration, among others. Sholly is also the publisher of Commercial Article, a long-running journal that documents little-known and forgotten Indiana design figures that you should know about.
