About the speaker
Jacquelyn Wells is a singer-songwriter, artist, and business owner based in Boston. Her unique roots as a Korean American adoptee growing up in Massachusetts have always influenced her art and music. Playing piano and singing since 5 years old, she writes, produces, and performs her own music & lyrics. Jacquelyn studied Fine Art and Art Metals throughout high school and acquired her Music Business Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University. She went on to take various metal smithing classes and began a unique line of jewelry hammered, drilled, shaped, and hand cut from high quality metals. She gains inspiration from her friends and customers who test out her line for her and has worked with several non-profits to raise money for their causes.
In 2010 right before graduating from Northeastern University, Jacquelyn founded Oohjacquelina, a handcrafted every day wear and special occasion jewelry design company based in Boston, Massachusetts. Oohjacquelina’s tagline is “quality handcrafted to last" because we want you to wear our jewelry for many years to come, not just a few weeks. Our ear wire and dainty chains are either pure sterling silver or 14K gold fill, ensuring hypoallergenic, waterproof and non-tarnish materials. She has locations seasonally in New York City, New Hampshire, and Southern Maine, and year round in Boston Public Market. She was recently featured as a Designer to Watch at Paris Fashion Week and the DC Miami Fashion Week with her waterproof 14K gold filled jewelry line. Bridal jewelry is her specialty.
Jacquelyn is psyched to now be open 7 days per week at her permanent location at The Boston Public Market where she meets people from around the world and custom makes them jewelry on the spot. Oohjacquelina now also offers permanent jewelry there as well.
Her own personal journey with mental health drew her to meditation, mindfulness, yoga, in her twenties when she became a registered yoga teacher. Jacquelyn served several years on the board of Also Known As Inc, a non-profit for transnational adoptees based in NY.
