About the speaker

Howard Herring was appointed President & CEO of the New World Symphony (NWS), America’s Orchestral Academy, in 2001. Since his appointment, Mr. Herring has led NWS through an exciting period of its development and has been instrumental in bringing the realization of its start-of-the-art, Frank Gehry-designed campus to fruition. Under Mr. Herring’s direction, NWS has experienced renewed success and unprecedented growth by engaging local patrons and classical music fans around the world, inviting them to experience the results of the academy’s experimental nature.

Special Note:
Attendees are invited to stay after the talk to observe the New World Symphony rehearsal beginning at 10:00 AM. Experience the rehearsal process of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3, led by NWS Conducting Fellow Christian Reif, in advance of the Encounters concert that evening.
