About the speaker
Dr. Hollee Freeman, Ph.D. is a career educator and writer specializing in STEM, literacy, equity, and educational access. Her programs for adults and students leverage community, creativity, and critical thinking. She is the author of eighteen children's books (15 for the Boston Public Schools) and has published her academic work in numerous peer-reviewed books and journals. Hollee has also shared her work around creating space for learning as a TEDx speaker.
Through her businesses, Freeman Educational & Business Consulting, LLC, Hollee Freeman Photography, and The Hollee Freeman Foundation, Hollee develops and facilitates classes and curricula for schools, districts, and community organizations.
One of her newer passion projects is the co-curation of City Bees RVA. City Bees is an ecological and educational program that demystifies one's understanding of honeybees and elevates the importance of bees in our ecosystem and lives through hands-on experiences at one of the City Bee's apiaries.
