Don’t wait for a better context.

If we are working together on making this city a better place right where we are with the people who we are, then [we] get to keep believing.

About the speaker

Heather Colletto has been a storyteller and fundraiser for global non-profits in Slovakia and Thailand, with a focus on women’s issues. She worked with the downtown YWCA West Central Michigan and is currently the Director of Communication and Mission at Westminster Presbyterian Church, a progressive congregation in Heartside. The week of the 2016 presidential election, Heather launched ServeGR.com, a hyperlocal website that connects Grand Rapidians to ongoing volunteer opportunities that play to their strengths, use their passion, and fit their schedule.

Heather is originally from Omaha, Nebraska and holds a BA in English from Rutgers University. At age 16, she spent her summer selling athletic shoes she never wore, Dippin’ Dots ice cream she never ate, and writing for the city paper she never read. (Okay, the Dippin’ Dots thing is a lie. She ate that a lot.)

Heather and her husband, Michael, moved to Grand Rapids in 2009. They live in Eastown, where Heather is vice president of the Eastown Community Association.
