How to avoid drowning in the news and how to absorb everything that is currently happening in the world?

About the speaker

Hana studied International Relations at Charles University and Economics at the Prague University of Economics and Business. She kept her passion for foreign and international affairs even after graduating - she co-founded the podcast “Za Humny,” in which, together with the journalist Barbora Chaloupková, she puts small as well as large-scale topics of international events into context. Hana also produces the newsletter “The Overview Effect,” focusing on foreign countries, technologies, and books. She was professionally engaged in nuclear disarmament in a non-profit organization, advised large companies with European subsidies, and spent two years working in media – first, as an editorial manager of Respekt, then as a co-editor at DVTV. Hana currently works as a foreign policy adviser in the Senate.

In her talk, Hana will tell us how to avoid drowning in the news and advise us on how to absorb everything that is currently happening in the world. Facts and information are often not enough. It is important to look for the right stories.
