FieldTrip: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Supporting the API Community at Home

Additional details

With the rise in hate crimes and tragic violence against the API community, including in our hometown, we are deeply saddened and disturbed. As a city with the slogan “too busy to hate,” Atlanta is hurting along with the rest of America. We are coming together for a virtual tour and discussion on how we can not only support our friends and neighbors in the API community, but take action. Travel with us as we learn about Asian communities of Atlanta and engage in a facilitated DEI discussion on what you can do as an ally.

Our featured guest will be Soon Mee Kim, Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer at ‎Omnicom Public Relations Group. She has been recognized for her innovative work throughout the PR industry. In her Atlanta Magazine op-ed, she describes herself as a “product of the American South” whose family “ate KFC and kimchi.” She serves on the advisory board of the Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network, the board of the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, and is an active volunteer with Leadership Atlanta, the city’s preeminent leadership development organization.
