Rabbi Deborah Blausten on sharpening our ethos

About the speaker

What ways of moving through the world did you inherit?

That is the essence of 'Ethos'. It's the specific quality that defines a place, time, or group of people. When you step into a room, a busy downtown, or a community gathering, you intuit its spirit.

We are incredibly excited to explore this theme with Rabbi Deborah Blausten.

Deborah is a Rabbi at Finchley Reform Synagogue in London and was ordained by Leo Baeck College in the summer of 2020. Before entering the rabbinate she read medicine at UCL and holds an MA in Education and Technology from the UCL Institute of Education. Deborah serves on the World Union for Progressive Judaism Executive Board and Youth Committee, and has worked extensively in camp and synagogue youth and young adult engagement. She was named as one of Jewish News’s '30 under 30' and the Jewish Chronicle’s ‘ones to watch’, and writes regularly in the Jewish press about issues related to progressive Judaism.

We'll cover the creative ways in which people come together, how their values remain true at their core and meet an ever-changing world.
