Ergonomist.
As a former graphic designer, I developed a repetitive strain injury resulting from excessive work with a computer mouse. I retrained as an ergonomist, graduating from San Jose State University with a Masters degree in Human Factors and Ergonomics. Now I do Remote / In-Person Ergonomics and Injury Prevention Evaluations for Companies, Individuals, and Ergonomic Classes. I am a professional ergonomist with my own consulting business and a sculptor that likes to work in clay. My professional website is www.ergoarts.net, I have done some helpful YouTube videos at: https://www.youtube.com/@ergoarts470 and my linked in profile is: linkedin.com/in/serafine. And you can see my art on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lserafiner/
As a former graphic designer turned ergonomist, I’m here to share what I learned the hard way: how to prevent repetitive strain injuries (RSIs) and create a healthier work environment. We’ll dive into the principles of neutral posture and how they can help you stay pain-free and productive—whether you’re at the office or working from home.
By the end of this session, you’ll have a solid understanding of how to incorporate neutral posture principles into your daily routine and prevent strain on your body.
This session is all about creating lasting habits that will help you thrive in your creative career for years to come—without the pain.

The FieldTrips experience is defined not only by what the host has to share, but also by how we show up individually and collectively. The way we show up impacts our capacity to be moved, inspired, and activated.
Get ready to be immersed! Engage with smiles, nods, waves, emojis. Share in the chat. Get cozy. Turn off notifications. Sip your favorite beverage.
Wear your beginner’s hat. Go with the flow. Welcome the stumbles and fumbles. Congratulate yourself for trying. Keep going!
Our hosts are members of the CreativeMornings community—just like you! Everyone comes to this with different backgrounds—a lot of our hosts have never done anything like this before! And we love that! Cheer them on when something goes awry and when it goes perfectly.
We’re all figuring things out in real time. Celebrate, rather than critique emerging ideas. Cheer each other on as you try new things. Try “Yes! And…” in conversation.
It’s 100% okay when a FieldTrip does not resonate with you. Pop out quietly and try another experience later. Fill out the survey with your feedback (no dms to host or chat commentary, please.)
