About the speaker

Farrah Skeiky is an Arab American photographer, creative director, and art framer based in Washington, DC. Her work celebrates those who make and do in their element, subcultures and underrepresented communities, and finding moments of closeness and connection in new places. As a proud self-taught photographer, she has spent over twelve years working with musicians, chefs, small business owners, community leaders, and fellow artists. In 2020, she self-published a photo book called Present Tense: DC Punk and DIY Right Now. Her clients and commissions include Rolling Stone, The Washington Post, Essence, DC Public Library, Smithsonian, Fender Guitars, Spotify, Food & Wine, Resy, and more. She is a member of Women Photograph, Diversify Photo, To The Front, and Women Photojournalists of Washington
