What would be the impact in your life if you had more fun?

What would be the impact in our communities if we spent more time together playing and creating?

For me, there’s a direct link between personal transformation and doing what brings you joy. And I have first-hand experience of just how intertwined, enriching, and life-changing these two aspects are.

In 2019, while working with a coach, two deep truths emerged. First, I hated myself. In my solo pursuit of personal development I had accidentally turned to self-hatred to find things to “fix”. Second, I was taking life - even hobbies - so seriously I’d forgotten to just have fun and enjoy myself.

This launched a journey of self-love and self-discovery where I rekindled old passions and explored new ones. From music production, singing, and parkour, to painting, sketching, comedy, and more, all while navigating a full-time job and the inevitable challenges of life.

And that’s what inspired me to begin my coaching and event business: Passion Guided Growth! Through inner work and community workshops, I help others overcome mental blocks and challenges to reconnect with the things that bring them joy and create a life that is truly fulfilling.

About this FieldTrip

Explore your mindset around drawing and reconnect with the feeling of drawing for fun instead of outcome.

Through simple exercises and moments of reflection, we’ll bring awareness to the judgments and insecurities that come up when drawing and explore how to move through them.

The goal is that by the end of this FieldTrip, you will have experienced what it’s like to draw without your mind getting in the way and tapping back into your natural fun and creative flow.

Agenda

  • 🧠Where's Our Mind At?:
Share your current thoughts & feelings around drawing. What judgments & insecurities come up?

  • 🖼️Picture This:
A drawing exercise that you can't fail at! (Despite what your mind might tell you).

  • ♾️Connect Them:
An exercise to free your mind from its constraints of what a drawing "should" be to get into a more curious, exploratory flow.

  • 🖊️Free Draw:
You'll be invited to try drawing from this new place. One of curiosity, play, and freedom.

  • 💭How About Now?:
Share how the experience has shaped or influenced your previous thoughts and feelings.

  • 🪞Between each exercise there will be space to reflect on the experience, share what our mind is saying, and challenge those beliefs so that we can begin to overcome them together.

  • Recommended Attitude:
    > 🤔Curious and open-minded
    > ❤️Compassionate and present
    > 🦁Hakuna matata

How to make the most of FieldTrips

The FieldTrips experience is defined not only by what the host has to share, but also by how we show up individually and collectively. The way we show up impacts our capacity to be moved, inspired, and activated.

Show up fully

Get ready to be immersed! Engage with smiles, nods, waves, emojis. Share in the chat. Get cozy. Turn off notifications. Sip your favorite beverage.

Stay curious

Wear your beginner’s hat. Go with the flow. Welcome the stumbles and fumbles. Congratulate yourself for trying. Keep going!

Celebrate your host

Our hosts are members of the CreativeMornings community—just like you! Everyone comes to this with different backgrounds—a lot of our hosts have never done anything like this before! And we love that! Cheer them on when something goes awry and when it goes perfectly.

Support each other

We’re all figuring things out in real time. Celebrate, rather than critique emerging ideas. Cheer each other on as you try new things.  Try “Yes! And…” in conversation.

Not vibing?

It’s 100% okay when a FieldTrip does not resonate with you. Pop out quietly and try another experience later. Fill out the survey with your feedback (no dms to host or chat commentary, please.)
