About the speaker

Creativity and marketing are pushed to the boundaries when it comes to cancer. Dr. Sawsan and friends walk us through their creative strategy to create awareness about prostate, breast and testicular cancer in the UAE!

Dr. Sawsan A. S. Al Madhi has more than 11 years of experience in strategy, operations and administration within the philanthropic sector. Currently Director General at Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP), she supervises expansion of service, fundraising and nationwide awareness campaigns with various stakeholders. She speaks widely on sustainability, gender balance, women and leadership, and women’s health, and as an Internal Medicine specialist is an active member on many boards. Today her focus is Shanab!

Launched in November 2014, Shanab; moustache in English, chiefly addresses testicular cancer and prostate cancer. It highlights the importance of early detection and endeavors to eliminate stigmas surrounding both types of cancer. Shanab aims at raising awareness among the target audience about the major health issues men face. It further encourages men to share their health concerns with their peers.
