About the speaker
Dr. Maha Al-Riyami is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Sultan Qaboos University. She obtained her Ph.D. in Experimental Medicine from McGill University, Canada (2019). Dr. Al-Riyami has been awarded several research awards, including the prestigious L’Oréal UNESCO for Women in Science Middle East Regional Young Talents Award in 2022, as one of three awardees from the Gulf Countries in the Post-doctoral category. Additionally, she received The National Research Award -2020, in the health and social services sector, in Oman. Dr. Al-Riyami has contributed to the writing of several scientific research articles and actively participates in international conferences and scientific meetings. Dr. Al-Riyami's research focuses on various aspects of diabetes.
