About the speaker
Jude Cook is the Owner of Cook & Company Sign Makers and Ignite Sign Art Museum.
Jude picked up a lettering quill for the first time in 1972 and has spent his career in the design and sign industry. He opened Cook's Sign Co. in the summer of 1976 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. After putting up with the winter of 1982-83 he and his wife relocated to Tucson in October of 1983 and opened Cook & Co Sign Makers shortly after. What originally started as a one-man shop offering hand-painted and carved wood signs has since expanded to a full service sign shop offering electric, neon and LED signs, and beyond. Jude got involved with neon sign restoration in 2010 and has helped restore or create many locally renowned and iconic neon signs. As a true sign lover not only does he restore or create signs he also collects them. In 2018, when his collection reached critical mass overflowing both his business and home, he opened the Ignite Sign Art Museum to share his collection with other sign lovers. The museum showcases neon signs and a wide collection of other advertising signs that span over the past 70 years.
