What are FieldTrips?
FieldTrips are meetups to interact, learn and collaborate in an effort to level-up your creative life.
We’re limiting these events to only 25 people, they’re like an intimate dinner party. Your absence will be felt so please make sure that you can definitely attend if you sign up. Also, we’re in the prototyping phase, so come with an open mind and be prepared for anything.
Thanks for participating! We’re lucky to have you.
Design educational workshops that engage and inspire
April 11, 6:00pm - 8:00pm EDT. Hosted at Spacious (NYC-N-6-Kent)
About this FieldTrip
This is a 2 hour workshop about workshops :)
The best workshops are energetic, educational, fun, and impactful. Unfortunately, many aren’t. This session aims to help you create better workshops so you can share your skills and expertise with the world in new ways.
In this session attendees will learn how to:
- design a simple, powerful and scaleable workshop/short course format
- create clear and specific learning objectives
- effectively use a variety of teaching formats
- utilize some of the most important elements of effective facilitation when working with a group
- avoid common pitfalls
By the end of the session attendees will be well-placed to start fleshing out their workshop concept so they can start running their own sessions on just about any topic. Perhaps some of them could be future Field Trips!
- It’s preferable if you have a topic in mind for a workshop you want to create, but not essential
- Attendees are welcome to bring pen and paper to make notes
