Crown of Rays

November 14, 4:30pm - 6:00pm EST. Hosted at KMAC Museum

About this FieldTrip

Join KMAC Curator, Joey Yates, for a tour of KMAC Museum’s inaugural Triennial Exhibition, Crown of Rays, Contemporary Art of the Commonwealth. Comprised of artworks that preserve certain traditions like weaving, crocheting, drawing, painting, and ceramics, this Triennial also includes the newer territories of conceptual photography, video, sound installation, and performance. Through contemporary issues and personal stories, the selected artists reflect the biodiversity of the state and its place in a larger globalized network. Afterwards, express your own ideas and passions with a hands-on project led by KMAC Educators. You will be able to make a unique accordion book using collage and other materials, further explore the galleries, and socialize with snacks and libations.

Metered parking spots are available on Main Street or the nearby cross streets (7th or 8th). There are also parking lots behind the museum on river road that belong to Frazier History Museum and the Science Center.
